Nearly 250 thousand people died at the site during its orbital bombardment and nearly half a million were injured or flash blinded in the surrounding areas by the munitions and systems used. It, alongside SEATAC, also acted as the primary landing and security sites for Imperial forces during the initial invasion and subsequent occupation of the region. It also remained one of main ‘controlled’ areas for human habitation even after the granting of citizenship by the Empress, only a small number of vetted individuals were allowed within thirty kilometers of the base perimeter. For Cascadian FLEETCOM it meant that only Imperial personnel and dedicated Imperial oriented humans would be within the blast radius.

Ten minutes after their launch from the central MacKenzie Mountains in northern Canada, two 450 kiloton fusion airbursts, one over the former site of Fort Lewis Army Base and the other over the former site of McCord Airforce Base, immolate the still forming 178th Imperial Planetary Stabilization Group Army. The blasts incinerate nearly 350,000 troops and nearly that number in support personnel that were bivouacked in temporary quarters around the military space port. The initial explosive effects and resulting fires destroy the stocks and supplies intended for building the logistical facilities to enable ‘Deep Stream’ in the Northern Pacific region of North America.
