The UASV Gato had already spent some weeks in the star system as part of the first wave of observation and familiarization. Long days watching the activities of both the IMPNAV and IMPPAT garrison. A pirate operation or a group of Alliance vessels would have been hard pressed to stage themselves this far into the Imperium. In the end the system simply wasn't significant enough to rate such an act and the third tier house that controlled the sector simply didn't have the influence or the means to rate any such action against them.
