The UASV Gato had already spent some weeks in the star system as part of the first wave of observation and familiarization. Long days watching the activities of both the IMPNAV and IMPPAT garrison. Both were smaller than the average, 18 Scorpii as it was known to humanity was far from the riled up regions of the galaxy. A pirate operation or a group of Alliance vessels would have been hard pressed to stage themselves this far into the Imperium. In the end the system simply wasn't significant enough to rate such an act and the third tier house that controlled the sector simply didn't have the influence or the means to rate any such action against them. For the humans of Cascade however the several thousand Earth origin prisoners of war held on the sole habitable world where the entire goal.

Gato and her smaller cousins, the Triton and Drum, where part of a small flotilla of twelve vessels detailed for what was now called Operation RAVEN FORK, one of sixteen groups and individual OPs now on for cleaning out the entirety of the POW population in Imperial custody.

For Gato, a heavily modified Blackfish-class Stealth Fast Attack ship, it was to support the ground operations. While her two cousins where capable of atmospheric flight and had some hanger capacity, Gato had been lengthened and modified to act partially as a covert landing ship. Specially modified drive systems embedded in spear shaped her hull and a far more flexible combined field system allowed her the ability to conduct 'soft' atmospheric reentries. All of this to allow her to reach her current position, hovering quietly over a low sea at three hundred feet.

• Introduce the Skipper, a third gen American born Helkam greeting one of the human pilots, a downtimer thats been trained up and detailed to the operation.
• A pair of gunships lift off along with three dropships.

• Six combat frames lay in shallow water less than a mile off the beach.
• Commanded by a UAMC Captain.
• They'd been inserted roughly twenty miles off shore and had swam in, fixing themselves to anchors and waiting for the go order.
• Their task is to directly attack the installation that lays less than two miles inland, their primary targets being any ready use air assets and four air defense sites.
• Just before dawn the go-order arrives and they cut their lines and swim in.
• They emerge from the surf in front of a singular Shil marine whos fishing, she drops her line and runs for her vehicle which they service with a burst of canon fire, her device burns inside the vehicle.
• They break up into a pair of three mech teams, moving fast over ground with hoverjets.
• They breach the fence minutes later, one team sweeping up the west the other the east.

  • A mobile patrol is encountered less than a hundred yards in, unmasking themselves from an outbuilding, the mech on point wipes them out with its plasma weapon but the alarm has now gone up.
  • Their next target is the first SL-50 site, some that have it manned have started moving to external firing points with laser weapons. They're rapidly serviced before the team destroys the tracking system and the laser emitter with missile fire.
  • They're engaged by another mounted patrol, one of the mechs takes light damage before they immolate it.
