L702 'Offensive Combat Pistol'

General Information and Design Details

The L702 OCP, or Offensive Combat Pistol, is a heavy weight dual stage electrochemical firearm developed by Loades-Neilson of the Anglo Confederation. Chambered in the 14x25mm caseless ‘payload’ cartridge the weapon was intended to have two operational modes.

The first is a normal operation mode that can use any of the 14mm ammunition types with both the chemical and secondary coil propulsive system being employed to throw the projectile at 650 meters per second.

The second is a chemical propulsive only mode used in conjunction with a suppressor and specialty subsonic ‘payload’ loadings of the 14mm cartridge. These are typically armor piercing high explosive rounds or lightweight high explosive anti-personnel rounds. The role of this mode is for the quiet elimination of hostile armored troops or unarmored personnel.

The pistol was developed as a personnel defense weapon for ESKEL or power armor equipped troops who may be carrying specialty weapons or who may need a quiet engagement system in the field due to their primary systems not being able to be suppressed. It has also found popular use with augmented individuals who's limbs can handle it's recoil.

Optical Systems
KGR-UCS-52 Hyperspectral Smart Linked Digital Optical Sight

  • IFF System
When active the optic can see a patterned infrared signal worn on most UAS equipment and armor systems and can flag them in the optic as 'friendly'.

  • 2.5x - 12x Digital Zoom

  • Digital Low Latency Light Intensification
Digital light amplification done via a very very low latency digital process allowing near parity with conventional light amplification technology of the 21st century.

  • Thermal Overlay
Lower resolution and lower range (650 meters) than a dedicated thermal optic, it still allows the overlay of 'hot' objects on the optic's output. Either directly overlaying the image or highlighting 'hot' possible hostile objects.

Controls

  • Smart Link Contact Grip
A physical contact point located on the pistol grip that is broadly compatible with all CONFED armor systems and cybernetic implants, it can be tied to a user with augments physically with a hard line physical attachment.

  • Action Access Cover
A hinged cover underneath the cheek pad, it hinges to the left and provides access to the weapon's bolt and action for clearing malfuctions or unloading the weapon.

  • Action Cycling Lever
Located midway down the left side of the weapon, it is a folding slide lever and one motion will cycle the weapon's action once. It is used for opening the bolt manually, unloading the weapon, or clearing a jam.
