General Information and Design Details
The L702 OCP, or Offensive Combat Pistol, is a heavy weight dual stage electrochemical firearm developed by Loades-Neilson of the Anglo Confederation. Chambered in the 14x25mm caseless ‘payload’ cartridge the weapon was intended to have two operational modes.
The first is a normal operation mode that can use any of the 14mm ammunition types with both the chemical and secondary coil propulsive system being employed to throw the projectile at 650 meters per second.
The second is a chemical propulsive only mode used in conjunction with a suppressor and specialty subsonic ‘payload’ loadings of the 14mm cartridge. These are typically armor piercing high explosive rounds or lightweight high explosive anti-personnel rounds. The role of this mode is for the quiet elimination of hostile armored troops or unarmored personnel.
The pistol was developed as a personnel defense weapon for ESKEL or power armor equipped troops who may be carrying specialty weapons or who may need a quiet engagement system in the field due to their primary systems not being able to be suppressed. It has also found popular use with augmented individuals who's limbs can handle it's recoil.
