- 'Caseless'
A system in which the entire cartridge is consumed aside from the components involved with the projectile. Either it is a specialized form of propellent or the magazine is sealed to prevent damage to the rounds before loading. It can utilize a primer or some form of more exotic ignition. Heat accumulation and fouling are a danger with this sort of cartridge.
